In an interview with the H3 Podcast Poarch told interviewers that her grandmother raised her in the slums to when she was 3 years old. Kenneth Taylor, an American ex-pat, and his wife Eden took her in. The author recalled how she spent the next 10 year in the agricultural work of Taylor's family as well as performing household chores. Bryner is her older brother, and she is the older of two adoptive sisters. The family of Poarch relocated from the Philippines to Texas out of the Phillipines as she was at 13. Poarch launched her YouTube channel in April of the year 2020, just a few months after she joined TikTok. Poarch was also famous for the alpaca things doll Paca. In 2020, she launched the limited-edition line of clothing RIPNDIP x Paca.
